Images of the City under Construction (1993 -2007)

Images of the city under construction is an artists archive of Berlin history from 1993 to the present. Here, among demolished buildings, construction pits, and wastelands, Berlins chenges between manifest, even if only in momentarily exposed cross section. Berlin`s construction sites are the real protagonists of the city´s transformation. Their ephemeral spaces allow glimpses into the past while making reference to the near future. Photography is here not only documentary but also subjective and painterly. The photographs play with the aesthetic of the not-yet-seen.
