Marienhof City (2001 – 2003)

The crossing of city and theme park stems from an increasingly complxe association of media. Since the Renaissance, cityscapes have been created using different architectonic pieces. The central perspective used for the creation of images brought with it the first images machines of this kind. Today, one could speak of sampling, i. e. making new creations from digital elements from image data banks.

Translated into today’s digital image creation and planning process, this means a way of producing endless cityscape variations and hence endless variations of so-called real cities. The everyday has become something simulated and simulation has become part of our eveeryday.
