During the research project, Migrating Spaces – Identity Through Architecture in the Context of Turkish Remigration, a total of eight research trips to Turkey were made between 2012 and 2015. The regions were selected based on information and tips from people we spoke to in the first random survey. Cross-compasrion and research in Germany enabled us to assume that we could expect a high density of returned migrants in the regions we chose. At the same time, we also wanted the regions to be as widely dispersed across Turkey as posssible. The field research was was divided up into the following regions and was carried out in each for a period of between ten and twenty days:

1.    Antalya province: Alanya, Side
2.    Aydin province: Didim
3.    Denizli province: Kicilca, Izmir province: Dikili
4.    Mersin province: Mersin
5.    Central Anatolia: Kayseri, Nevsehir, Aksaray, Konya, Ankara provinces
6.    Greater Istanbul Area: Marmara region, Canakkale province
7.    Antalya province: Antalya
8.    Black Sea region: Bartin, Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, Artvin provinces
